Synopsis: Two young WWI veterans spend the summer of 1919 in the Yorkshire countryside to heal their emotional war wounds. As they hope to spend a peaceful summer restoring the village church an explosive turn occurs when one ignites suppressed passion in the pastor's young wife and the other struggles with his own hidden desires. All the while the uncovering of a medieval mural in the church parallels and symbolizes the uncovering of their heretofore hidden human nature.
