Synopsis: The hearts of two 19th century artists collide in this recounting of the romance between Frederic Chopin and George Sand. Aurore Dupin is an authoress writing under a male penname (George Sand) when she meets the feeble, but brilliant composer Frederic Chopin. Chopin's poetry on the piano inspires her greatly and the two begin a tumultuous love affair lasting 8 years.
Chopin, with a true artist's temperament, is often shifty and unsatisfied, straining Sand's nurturing compassion to the breaking point. Yet, Sand's unwillingness to compromise also helps bring their romance to an end. A fairly accurate period movie about two of the most influential artists of the 19th century Romantic Period.
